2008 Walk for Meals on Wheels
On
a gray Saturday in early May, over 140 walkers braved the elements to show
their support for the Meals on Wheels program of Franklin County and the
North Quabbin area.
Thanks to the walkers and teams who showed up after raising money little by little to make the walk a success.
Thanks to the following businesses and all the individuals who supported the Walk for Meals on Wheels this year. We raised over $36,000, a 33% rise, from $27,000 last year, for homebound elders, memorializing FCHCC staff member Deb Clogston, and MOW delivery person Kristen Seaman, who delivered meals for 9 years.
We are grateful to all walkers and donors for your help. Three walkers raised over $1000 each: Dot Black (Erving), Marian Holbrook (Northfield) and Autumn Tidlund (Greenfield HS, honoring Ken Iwasinski, who died in Iraq).
We deeply appreciate the following business sponsors: Greenfield Savings Bank, whose gift will help us build the Walk; Athol Orange Rotary, Yankee Candle, Bete Fog Nozzle, Renaissance Builders, Cherewatti Family Fund, Bank of Western Massachusetts, Franklin First Credit Union, Freedom Credit Union, Kostanski Funeral Home, Lightlife Foods, Sandri Companies, also: Appleton Performance, Arbors of Greenfield, Franklin County Rotary, Hospice of Franklin County, J.Lincoln Hirst CPA, Stobierski & Stobierski Attorneys, Joe and Anna Viadero, WHAI, Greenfield Recorder, Town Crier, and the many prize sponsors, especially China Gourmet, Chandlers, Copper Angel, Dunkin' Donuts, Elmers, Famous Bills, Friendlys, Fosters, Four Leaf Clover, Mesa Verde, Patty Cake, Rendezvous, Ristorante DiPaolo, Stop & Shop and Stillwaters.
